19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev secured his initial trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of that year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and regular reactions on court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to play at the top level was over.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his first tour championship, took control to force a decider.

The opponent defended four initial opportunities in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
